We had a science experiment where we paint the colors of the rainbow on a wheel and spin it. Guess what color we get when we spin the wheel real fast? WHITE!
So I think Color blind people are having one helluva spin in this life! Lucky people!
Hmmm colorblind...bt ur certainly nt Blind na n moreover for feelng expressions n thots needs a brain n thtz seen to b profound in a Blind..:P n rahi color blind ki baat..toh fir hmmmm...why think of seeing just go on painting it...the outcome wil as u paint it..u need nt hve the knowledge of it too... Did i make sense doc..pls help me
@ ashu if u say the blind have their advantage, then i can understand the optimism in the sense that they are unaware of the evil around... but colourblind hone ke kya fayde ho sakte hain??hmm me could do with some explaining ashu ...:)
@ ub nice way of interpreting it ub :)... but would white have the same importance to the colourblind who wudent be able to appreciate the emalgam of colours its made of??? i dunno...:)
@ the mad orchid well what u say does make sense mads... i agree ...maybe sometimes we gotta paint on without expecting to see the results...maybe the end result would be a beautiful painting appreciated by the world... but is it okay if we are not able to enjoy it in the process...:)
please do not take this thought in the literate sense...im not talking only about people who are literally challenged to see colours here...
thinking about it in a deeper sense, sometimes we lose the ability to see the joys of life...we tend to see everything in black and white and sometimes in greys maybe :) but we lose track of the beauty which lies somewhere deep within... we fail to appreciate the different hues of life and that is when we, in the true sense, become COLOURBLIND...:) what do u think?
Nobody told me it feels so good, Nobody said you would be so beautiful, Nobody warned me about your smile, You're the light, You're the light, When i close my eyes, Im colourblind.
tragedy of life doc....all of us are color blind in some way as we are running a race - to be something - to reach somewhere - everything kinda unknown - a plan we say we have but can change in a flicker of a eyelid (accidents)....
this is where meditation helps a lot - see the inner brilliance - calm your mind - make yourself aware of the surrounding - then you dont need to look hard to see the colors of life :)
by the way literally speaking - there are brilliant shades of greys too
welcome back......if it took you so long to write this post and think about it - you need to repaint your brains :)
@ anuj well one of the very best by darius... u know anuj, the lyrics to tht song itsself wud have made an impressive comment coupled with ur last line but then again.........u being u HAD to spoil it all with that andhe ko raasta pj DINT U?...:-/
@ ceedy lol...ceedy...the delay in blogging because i got reminded i still have a life ;)... as for meditation?? is it really that good...hmmm..was watching a particular thing on tv yesterday wch said the same...inner brilliance and stuff maybe should try it out sometime :)
@ rohit well said rohit...but whats important in to 'LIVE' not just merely 'SURVIVE'...:) yaa its been a long time...was a lil caught up with things...but now am backkk and hopefully a lotta 'kickass' posts coming ur way :D cheers!!
If the colors fall in the category of "mauve, turquoise blue , lemon yellow" then most of the men would be termed as colour blind. they are still surviving so do we :-)
Colour Blind << Atleast he/she/it sees the variant shades of #0000 & #1111 . What about A Blind person ? so the theory that "life is a canvas with a beautiful splay of colours all over" seems to be poetic (A Simile << A simile is a juxtaposed ASSS of two or more objects to draw attention to their similarities )and not practial or near to relative Real. The poet/Mood forgets that there are more senses to human life then just the "SIGHT". According to Physics Life is Be Cause of "SPIN" << this is near to Relative Real
@ maverick phiosophically taken...i understand what u mean :)
@ sunshine and blogboy i think i wasent very clear in putting my thoughts forth and yet expected u to understand what i mean... no issues...most havent gotten me right...but in a way, its nice to hear different interpretations :)
@ anonymous AND THE AWARD FOR THE BEST COMMENT SO FAR GOES TO.... :) *applauds* ohh and by the way...something tells me that u havent read my first comment addressed to 'everyone' :) cos otherwise u wud have known that the 'canvas' is not the only similie in the post (though the other dosent really follow the rules of wren and martin in including a 'like' or an 'as'...:)

@ abhishek khanna heehee dont people say that when they are confused?? :p
@ cm-chap heyy cm, me being a doctor has nothing to do with it...i think uve taken the post in a literate sense when it was meant to be a lil deeper than that...check out my first comment in this section addressed to everybody...might help understand me a lil better :)
@ ali i guess u havent gone thru the comment section ali...i have explained a bit in my first comment addressed to everybody :) i dont think nethin more need be said... neways i appreciate the frank comment...and thanks for dropping by :)
@ mad orchid well join the club..that makes us 3 to like the song :)
well... if one is colourblind then that person can be treated... philosohically.... in retrospect, why does someone go colourblind??? is permanent? or is situation based?? so many questions... and wer's the solution?? we r really at times classifyingthings so much into black, white and grey.. that we forget that the sky still goes blue.. and the rose has many a colour... at that point of time only self realisation can help a perosn see the colours... the trigger can be from anywer!!
@ sam true!...i agree :) u just got to find that trigger and never let go... some find it in their loved one's company, some in ther passion for their work or liking... it could come from from anywhere...from someone else or maybe from us within........
and then again, sometimes from the pursuit of happiness itsself...ironic huh?? :)
To be honest I have struggled in vain to understand anything of this post..yes I know the comments were supposed to help me but guess I am just too stupid. In any case my efforts to figure this out did yield a humorous interpretation that would like to share(no offense intended to all the serious discussion here):
Definition of splay(wikipedia): Splay is a physiological term that refers to the difference between urine threshold (the amount of a substance required in the kidneys before it appears in the urine) and saturation. Here
In that context life as a splay of colors takes over an interesting connotation, the difference between amount of sight it takes to see color and the saturation of colors(colorblindness) :)
@ angry agnostic well i guess one word can have more than one meaning...(in reference to ur discovery about splay)...likewise a particular thought too :) hmm interesting connotation there though... the comment section might only have confused u all the more as almost everyone has derived a different interpretation... it was nice reading though...but i guess im still kinda waiting for someone to figure me out...sigh!! giving up is a choice many may want to choose i guess...lol!

Even though colorblindness may exist, the "person" will still survive.

well if one is colourblind...then u can get the best shades of grey out...
but then colourblindness in humans aint a permanent thing..requires some inputs to rectify it...lol :)

colourblind.....
One who does not see discrimination, poverty and unequalness around the world is colourblind......

@ Pri
I pretty much read what you wrote in your comment section...even i hadn't I wud have come at the same conclusion as you have arrived at.
I was confused because the posting used a "Heavy" Phrase and the explanation given is trivial.
Neways its your point of view and that has to be respected so I think i shudn't add anything more..

I know where you coming from..not taking those lines literally but in more depth.
